Phil's Story

It all started when I was a kid. I remember seeing my first Jeep and thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. My old man ended up bringing a brand new Jeep Wrangler home for me when I was 15 - it was love at first sight.

I was lucky. My dad was a pretty handy guy. He was always building, restoring, fixing, refinishing or tinkering with something. He taught me to use all sorts of tools and I developed an addiction to finding, buying, installing, breaking and selling all sorts of Jeep parts and accessories. As a kid, practically every dollar I made went into my Jeep. In later years I found myself hunting for used Jeeps, giving them a second life and matching them with loving enthusiasts. I was hooked and needed an outlet.

Vintage Jeep Store was born.

Today I find myself traveling the southern states looking for vintage Jeeps that time forgot and bringing them back to life. Over the years my family has embraced my passion and now secretly love Jeep hunting and seeing the rusty gold shine up new again. We've been across state lines - traveled pavement and long dirt roads to barns, rickety sheds, old houses, garages and they all have one thing in common. A vintage Jeep - with a story.

I bring them back to life.

That's my story.

Ryan's Story

Ryan grew up with grease in his fingernails. His old man, Dave McBride, was a noted diesel expert and host of Speed Channel's Two Guys Garage. Ryan learned his way around cars, trucks, motorcycles, lawnmowers, weed whackers and anything else with an engine at an early age. If it was broken - he'd fix it. If it was working - he'd find a way to wreck it.

Over the years Ryan developed an visionary sense of seeing a dollar where no one can. He finds anything and everything he can work on, shine up, restore and sell - sooner choosing to chew off his toes than not take a profit.

Our resident military expert, Ryan loves buying in bulk. And by bulk I mean numerous items at once AND large in size - like 2 1/2 ton and five ton Jeep Kaiser military vehicles, military trailers and fuel storage tanks. Big or small most items don't stand a chance against Ryan. He can find em, buy em and sell em with the best of them.

If you happen to see a quad cab, five ton Kaiser M813 with 53" tires and a demilitarized .50 caliber anti-aircraft gun mounted out back rolling through your neighborhood, get the kids inside!

Adam's Story

Adam has been on many finds with us. As a kid, his first car was also a Jeep. He has never actually owned a Jeep CJ or Wrangler, but he specialized at an early age stealing Phil's without asking.

Deep down Adam dreams about having a vintage CJ in his garage.  The reason he doesn't have one yet is because of his unusual height. Unfortunately he can only fit in a CJ7 WITH bucket seats AND a tilt wheel. We've not found one yet for him nor have we even thought about retrofitting those creature comforts into another CJ7 for him - that would make too much sense.

While he anxiously awaits the day his garage contains a vintage Jeep and reeks of carbureted gas, oil and rust  - he spends his free time traveling the back roads with us on "ride-alongs". He has driven shotgun on many occasions and will surely be there for many more.
